Ottoman Light Horse

Here are another set of figures finished with the ‘complete some of the half finished project’s work’ – which some of the local guys in dreamed up. This time Ottoman Light horse troops to go with my existing army. I used this army somewhat successfully for DBM in October (considering I had not played in years coming in the middle of the pack of a comp of was good for me) and that gave me a push to finish off another set of figures for that army.

And a shot from behind them – as I hope to see them on the table, when using them:

I must admit I do like how the little extra effort on the basing really (just putting sand in the drying filler) paid off with these figures. Basing is not something I really like doing but it has a huge effect in the end. So my next army project I will definitely be focusing more on the bases to ensure they help frame and finish the models.

You can see if in this shot, as well as some of the shield designs. Four of them (shown below) have light shield patterns while the other four have darker, blue based ones:

I do have some Serbian knights somewhere to add to this army at some point, but I think it will be a while till I get to those models.
