Russian Husars as light Cavalry

Well I bought too many Baccus figures for my Russian army for Might and Reason. I did not want to waste them though and as the armies are being used more for Maurice system (http://www.sammustafa.com/honour/maurice/), I thought I would paint some of the extra Hussars as light cavalry. These may also be useful when the figures get used for other rules sets as well.

So, below are 6 bases, 3 units of Russians Hussars  based as light cavalry. They are 7 figures per base not the normal ‘Baccus’ 9 per base. That allows them to easily be identified as light vs. heavy Cavalry when in play – not that it makes a difference in Maurice either. I also like the difference when they are on the table. The middle unit has Serbskiy Hussars uniforms (all blue and black), while the one of the one in red and black are Vengerskiy’s Hussars. The last unit in the red hats is Makedonskiy’s. I already have finished these regiments based as irregular cavalry – as can be seen here in a previous post, but now they can also be light cavalry.

Of course lastly the top view shot of these figures, as always like that view of 6mm figs:

  1. Looks good! Are you going to run them as conscripts?
