Last of the Dystonpian British surface fleet

I’m slowly working on finishing my first Dystopian Wars fleet – the British, of course. So this post shows the completion of the last of the surface fleet for that force. I still have some flyers to paint for the force – maybe even before the end of the year, but we’ll see. I want to play some game before deciding whether I need to buy any more ships.Last of the British surface fleet

All these have the shield options on the models and follow my established colour scheme. I stick down the turrets for easy of transport etc. I still am not experienced enough to know in the game if the shields are wise move, but the way my luck goes at times every little bit helps.

This updates includes another battleship – my third for this force. It uses the same palette but has different locations painted with differently, so each battleship is unique.DW Britsih battleship No.3

I used a different make of paint on varnish for these and I’m not as happy with the overall effect as that resulted. It’s ok but not great. The varnish was a little thicker to go on and is a little more cloudy than the W&N stuff. Oh well live and learn. DW Britsih battleship No.3 stern view

This group also includes another squadron of cruisers, which you can see below. At the start of painting DW I was not impressed on these models, but they have grown a little on me over time.DW British crusiers

And I also got a squadron of escorts, which are to protect the battle ships in my force. Not sure how that will work out but we can try it.DW British escorts
So lastly a shot of the escorts doing their designed role – hanging around the battle ship providing extra protection to it. DW British escorts and Capital ship
